As a concert and festival veteran, I’ve lived and suffered through many franchises that have come and gone. I’ve never quite experienced anything like Do Lab’s, Lightning In A Bottle. I shot my first LIB in 2013 and walked in to a dreamland of art installations, a marathon of the top notch indie, experimental, electronic acts and thousands of music lovers alike. A transformal festival is not only about the music, it’s about explorations, creative expression, and personal transformation. It promotes healthy living and sustainability such as the “Leave No Trace” policy. The Temple of Consciousness is a place where you can hear house music legend, Moby talk about music therapy.
The other activities includes a full line up of workshops, seminars, and yoga sessions – all inclusive. The marketplace and village is where you can shop for your fun and free outfit for the evening. On my birthday I pranced around between the stages dressed up like Unicorn. No judgement in our little community and home for the weekend! The Woogie stage is a tree house full of techno and house goodness. The Bamboo stage features the up and comers and the main Lightning stage showcases headliners and live acts. The fun doesn’t end when the programs shut down either, there are tons of a campground after parties and silent discos to attend.
I would love to go on but this is truly something you need to experience yourself. The fun, the music, the people, the self realization, the social setting, the sharing and community. Come with me to this special Indian Reservation at Lake Bradley this Memorial Day Weekend. This year’s line up features a sting of favorites like Australian Future Classic talent, Flume. We are also excited to check out SBTRKT, AME, dirtyBird’s, Shiba San, Wolf + Lamb and John Digweed.
